A Chewy Caramel $ Milk Chocolate $ Crispy Crunchies Feeling

100 grand barIt's after 3 AM... how incredibly fitting

I guess it's the way it should be. Ever since joining ActiveRain on November 28, 2006, my sleep time has taken a nose dive. It's like I've been on a constant sugar high.

Tonight, per my routine, I checked email one last time before heading to bed.  I've been working on three other blogs most of the evening, so I hadn't bee paying attention to email. I saw there were some comments on a post and logged in to respond.

I never got to that post. A number - 100,074 - stopped me. I knew I was close to 100 Grand in points, but I didn't expect to go over the threshold tonight. And I wasn't going to write a post about it either, but seeing the mark, I felt compelled.

Luckily, Jeff Belonger already did all the hard work for me today.  He highlighted all of those who have gotten to this mark before.  Thank you for compiling that list, Jeff, and congratulations to you! And to each of you on his list, I say thank you as well.

But what I really want to say at this moment is how much joy it brings me to be a part of this group. It feels like family. In a good way. :)

...

It's now just after 3:30 AM on the west coast. (My wife is going to kill me!) I have to leave the house in 3 hours to take my oldest to school. That's going to require a cup of coffee to get me started, but I won't be eating breakfast before I leave in the morning. I'll be saving room for a little celebration with a 100 Grand Bar. Probably two - that photo already has my mouth watering.

And as I bite into the chewy caramel, milk chocolate and crispy crunchies, I'll be thinking about how sweet the AR experience has been so far. To each and every one of you who has made it so, I say thank you.

Thank you, very much!

EDIT: So, after I took my son to school I hit the nearby 7/11 for a 100 Grand Bar...

Jeff,  Congratulations!  You've been doing a lot of inviting.  I've been using that wide angle Kodak camera you recommended and yesterday a seller was raving about how wonderful the pictures were that I had taken.  I think the camera did most of the work and I thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Jeff Congratulations.  I find that your blogs set the bar for the rest of us.  And a personal thank you because of your encouragement I decided to write a blog -- it got featured!  Then another blog got honorable mention in the Green Awareness contest.  I have a long way to go, but you helped me find my voice so I could sing in the rain.  Now -- get some rest!

Gosh Jeff... I can remember when you were just a "babe in the rain" now look at you all grown up.

(And actually, I bet if you ask TLW you are still a "Babe". But that is a DIFFERENT type of Babe. But Idigress.)

Anyway congrats congrats... your 100K worth of points are WELL EARNED.

Jeff Turner.... Congrats man. Gee, we seem to have more in common. Not only 100k in points now, but that we love it here in AR, have gotten a lot from it, and that we seem to stay up until 2am to 3 am many mornings. I just burnt myself into the ground this week.

You are a class act on here and have brought much knowledge to AR... thanks.

In any case, you have me hungry with that 100,000 bar, great touch with it and again, Congrats on your 100k and thanks for the mention.

Ines... I've got a few people in my list who post to twitter about what they are reading at that moment, I do the same. I got a great article on web 3.o from a guy named Daniel in Australia, which led me to a new rss feed i wanted to subscribe to. It's in the moment stuff... I'm not 100% sure about it yet, but I'm giving it a fair shot. Luckily for me, there is a mac only application that makes it easy for me to do and I've added "twitter this" buttons to many of my own blogs to make it easier for others to do as well. Click on the Twitter This button under my photo and see for yourself.

OK - I can see where it can come in handy - I just twitted your jottblog experiment.  Obviously it would be more effective if your friends' list is larger - but it can get confusing.   I'll keep playing with it, but don't see a major advantage yet.
