A very special thank you to Teresa Boardman for turning me on to this browser plugin.
PicLens "transforms your browser into a full-screen, 3D experience for viewing photos and videos across the web. With one click, PicLens makes online media come to life via an immersive presentation that goes beyond the confines of the traditional browser."
If you're a flickr user, and you should be, this browser extension will be your new best friend. PicLens works with Firefox (Windows) Firefox (Mac) Internet Explorer and Safari (Mac).
Here's a quick look at PicLens. Best viewed full screen.
Thank you, Teresa!
Jeff Turner aka respres

Jeff, I recently started using PicLens and think it is great! Thanks for getting the word out!
Jeff, this is truly incredible. Photography has gotten so exciting...especially with great photos from people like Teresa. Thanks for this lesson!
Amazing tool. Amazing photos. Amazing presentation. Great job Teresa & Jeff!
Thanks Jeff - You always blog the coolest gadgets! Thanks for sharing...seriously.
This is fabulous! How do you see agents using this with a client who doesn't have piclens?
Diane... you're so right. Her photos rock.
Anthony and Josh... thank you.
Susan... I don't actually see it used that way. Flickr is an amazing tool for reaching out to your local community. It's way more than just a photo sharing site. It is a very powerful social network, and, if used properly, one of the best ways to gain visibility in your community. Flickr photo pages are treated just like blog posts by Google, not like images, so they rank very well. I could spend five days talking just about Flickr.
Hey Jeff, this is cool and reminds me of Viewzi. It's amazing what people keep coming up with...I didn't know about piclens until I saw you all talking about it on twitter, I'll have to check it out.
Steph... viewzi is interesting. Changing people's search habits is a big task though. For those interested... here's a video of viewzi.

WOW! what a great browser plugin. Thank you for letting us know.
Very cool tool. Did the Bold get stuck here or something?
Anyway, I went to the site and watched the video and downloaded the tool for FF. I'm looking forward to playing with it this evening.
Jeff - You haven't let me down yet with your recommendations so I am downloading this one as I write this. Thanks once again for sharing and thanks to Teresa for turning you onto this.
Jeff, When you make these videos for us, how do you get the screen to seem interactive with your computer screen? Do you use a special tool?
Susan
Another great tool shared by the wonderful folks on AR! What a wonderful world we live in to be able to share so much! Thanks Jeff - and a huge thanks to Teresa!
Awesome stuff!
Looks like this will be fun to play with over the weekend. Thanks, ResPres and TBoard!
Susan... I use a program built specifically for the Mac. It allows me to record the entire screen in a timeline and do all of the panning and zooming in post production.
John... I have a Mac Mini hooked up to our big screen HD TV here at home. When I saw this, the first thing I did was go load it onto firefox in the family room and play it on the TV. It was truly amazing. It has literally doubled my productivity when I'm in Flickr. Very happy with it!
OMG. Another treasure and diversion... which is why I get up early and follow you! THANK YOU and Teresa.
I am always pleasantly surprised by the new add on's that become available and how everyone here is so willing to share. Thanks
Jeff the piclens site looks really terrific. I will have to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing the info.
Thanks Jeff, Theresa,
Is the purpose of using Flickr to reduce the space used up on the hard drive?
Absolutely great info. AR brings so much and best of all it is free. Thanks Jeff and Theresa!
Hey Jeff...I have been using picasa but think it is time for me to check out flickr. Great presentation and video. I continue to be amazed by your knowledge and graciousness in sharing your "huge brain" with all of us at AR.
I mentioned in another comment recently that you should be required reading for any AR blogger....especially the newbies. Hey, I may have to do a blog post on that topic...hmmmm.
Thanks again for sharing...
Hi Jeff,
This is a beautiful thing and we thank you and Teresa for bringing it to our attention!
Hey Jeff - I saw everyone talking about this and just downloaded it. Looks great! thanks for sharing with the community. Been following TBoards pics for some time now. Great shots she takes. I've been stuck on Flowers lately like you. lol Thanks again. Bob H
Herb, I can see I need to do some posts about the real value of Flickr.
Jeff - How do get it to initiate it onto my flickr account? Using IE7 and it doesn't show up like it did on Teresa's page in your vid? Just a little confused. Bob H
Jeff, I have to agree with you. I noticed you used a firefox tag. does this only work or work better using firefox? aj
How cool. I absolutely love flickr, and this just makes it even better :) Thanks!
Jeff - I have been using it with Youtube - LOVE IT!!! Thanks for sharing.
Maureen, I like it with YouTube as well, it's just doesn't seem as intuitive, since you can't get a sense for the video without actually watching it. Whereas with the photos, you can take it all in without clicking on any single photo. But, yest, works great with YouTube as well. It also works with DeviantART, Yahoo, SmugMug, Google, & Photobucket.
I thought I was the only one who knew about it...
Sheron... were you trying to keep it for yourself! :)
Very cool stuff, Jeff. Gotta find some time in the next day or so to check it out in depth. Thanks (and thanks Teresa B).
Jeff
Jeff, I too just recently found out about piclens. I actually twittered about it a few days ago. It would be an interesting MLS Browser if you could find a way to superimpose price/bed/bath on the photo. http://twitter.com/realestateweb/statuses/816907048
Jeff, that sounds very cool. It is amazing how much I learn in the realm of technology from you guys. I saw someone talking about it on twitter the other day, but I wasnt sure what it was. Now that I know, it's going to be fun to learn more about it.
Brad... and Teresa learned about it here: http://www.realestatebloglab.com/blogging-in-general/piclens-one-sweet-add-on-for-your-browser/ Dave Smith loves photography as much as Teresa does, so I wasn't surprised.
so rad...i'm sending my wife and her photography mentor here to check it out.
Joey sent me a link to your blog. I had never heard of Piclens. I love it! I am also a flickr user and I'm already having fun with it. Thanks. ~Jolynne Aszterbaum
Hey Jeff - apparently great minds think alike.
I hadn't spotted this until AR pointed it out on a video post I did about Piclens - Brand Management and Reputation Control with Piclens. That is soooo ironic, we were probably both toying with the same ideas at the same time (I put mine on YouTube on the 27th)
I think the Filckr focus you have is more along the lines of what I was thinking for a real estate pro using it to present home inventory. You could easily setup a flickr account with home images and browse them with a client and control your images.
My video is more along the lines of using it as an assisted search tool, finding pieces of information attached to you, a community, a home, or a business.
Good stuff, keep it up!
~Barry
Hi Jeff. Thanks for sharing the great tip! Keep them coming.
Jeff, I'm sure your wife and others have already told you ...but thought I'd comment since I was in the area - Great color on you!
Only one word...WOW!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the great tool, yet another fine tool...doesn't surprise me with Teresa, she is a fantastic photographer!
Wow! I am soooo lost for words, this is awesome! I am a really, really newbie here and am loving it...everyday I am learning something new, and this is just another great find! Thank you for sharing.
Oops! That was me last comment... I'm so new I didn't I wasn't logged in!!!!! Yet another thing I have learned
Thanks Jeff for another great tip! I'll be checking it out
Sweeeeeeet!
Thanks,
Howard
Hi Jeff, Thanks Jeff..just another bit of amazing information. There is never an end to learning about the great ideas available.
Hey Jeff-
You continue to bring out the best stuff so we can all live better in the blogging world. If anyone has not subscribed to your blog, their missing great content. Thanks for all you share because you are making a difference.
Thanks I am trying to get more into video and this will help me alot
Here’s how PicLens becomes useful to me: I’m writing a blog post or preparing a presentation and want to quickly scan a bunch of Creative Commons photos in Flickr. Clicking through page after page just takes too long. But with PicLens, I can quickly go through hundreds of images and find one that suits.
Karel.... perfect.
EXCELLENT post.
thanks for the heads up. Can't wait to try it.
Good luck
Tony
Always something new to try...thanks again!
Thank you for the information. I will try it soon.Sounds wonderful.
Hi Jeff - Thanks for the recommendation. When I tried to download it, it said I needed to install an add-on to Firefox. Norton warned me that there was a medium threat in doing so. Norton's pretty picky about what it lets me download so it could be nothing. Just thought I'd throw it out there just in case.
