Turner's Perspective

YEO on Twittertalk Radio

I was honored to be interviewed by Angie Swartz on Twittertalk Radio a couple of weeks ago.

Twitter Talk RadioAngie and I spent a good portion of the first segment talking about YEO and it's origins here on ActiveRain. Her take on the segment: "Jeff Turner coined one of his taglines by accident in a blogpost he wrote for Active Rain…SEO vs. YEO. Although Jeff admits that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is important, he purports that YEO (You Engaging Others) is by far the most essential factor in developing good content and relationships. If you focus on interesting conversations with others, you’ll likely win in all directions."

I thought I'd share the archives of those conversations with you here.

Segment 1: Jeff Turner Talks YEO vs. SEO

Segment 2: Gaming Twitter and Jeff Turner's Fake Bott #FollowFriday Friends

Segment 3: Jeff Turner Mentors Ines Hegedus-Garcia with Mojitos

Segment 4: Rocky Turner's Story: Twitter Helps Kenya by Launching Mothers Fighting For Others

I think this is really smart.  As much as technology and being out there is important, Real Estate will always be a people business.  The people you engage and touch, will be the people you work with and if lucky become friends with.

All the best!

YEO is incredibly valuable.  Striking up conversations with people, even total strangers, has resulted in real sales for myself and others that I have discussed this with.

Hi Jeff, This is fascinating and begins to answer the more obvious question of how to use Social networks to better interact ,especially where it involves finding one or more social objects that can begin the important conversation exchange. Discovering the social object that helps us to be real, able to connect and become real to the Internet consumer. I will listen to these again and try to take custody of this material as I think it is most valuable to all of that need to learn to engage in the social network.

TLS [SVW]... you know me best. :)

Margaret, Margaret, Eileen, Connie, Hannah, Lee & Pamela and Kevin... thank you.

William... the concept of "the social object" is the reason why a site like Flickr can be so powerful. Photos are a natural social object. It's easy to have a conversation with the photo as the object of the conversation.

Jeff, you are one great guy with so much to offer and so willing to share. Having known you since you first started here I am glad to say I can call you a close friend.

I have learned a lot from all of your posts and Monika and I have become better RE Agents and people because of it and I thank you for that.

Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Mr. Turner, I was wondering, could you tell me how to set up an Auto DM? :P

Jeff, Good to see you my friend. YEO is certainly the way to go. And I'm finding that it can be done over the Internet. Which is a good fit for my reclusive lifestyle. And what the heck ia a TLS?

Well I say that both are equally important, you need to have the right message, and people need to see, hear, feel, interact with it and you.  This stuff is very obvious, and people over analyze it to avoid the part they do not want to confront.  It is also important to delete alot: my group here (http://activerain.com/groups/WEB20) has under 200 posts, and 699 participants.  Impartial quality is the key.  I routinely delet my own strings when they are unpopular and not commented on.
